Tony Karon

Tony Karon is a South African-born journalist and former anti-Apartheid activist. He is currently a Senior Editor at TIME.com.[1]

He is originally from Cape Town, South Africa, and has been living in New York since 1993.[2]

He studied at the University of Cape Town, and in the 1980s, he was a prominent anti-apartheid activist in student movement NUSAS. He is Jewish, and a noted anti-Zionist writer.

He joined TIME in 1997, and has been a Senior Editor since 2000, providing commentary on world affairs.[1] In the past he worked as an activist for the banned ANC in South Africa.
